It’s no secret that I love wooden things. Especially things made from old pallets. Oh, I just love them! Beautiful, original and sustainable. And lucky for me, my boyfriend has a background in furniture design and works in a studio. So after a few weeks of working through his lunch-break and leaving scraps of paper with sketches and measurements scattered about the flat, he brings home his very own flat-pack bookshelf made from an old pallet. And it’s just lovely!

I love the simplicity of the structure.
I love the contrast of the old, dirty wood against our new, bright walled flat.
I love having somewhere to finally stack up all our books! Up until now I’ve been taking them back to the charity shop, but every now and then you come across a book you want to keep. And our home-made, upcycled, recycled, pallet bookshelf is the perfect place for them!
But most of all I love finally having my own pallet furniture to love and admire after all these months of lusting after others. Thank you W!
P.S. The geeky sci-fi books aren’t mine!
